THE STORY
Two children are going to bed, outside two ants cross over the street to play with some pine needles in the park.
After they have played for a while they lie down and go to sleep. In the morning the street has got so busy the ants can't get back across. How can the children help the ants to safely cross back over the street?

By giving more or less criteria the teacher can adjust the degree of difficulty and problem solving skills to suit the group. The more open the criteria, the more creative and wide ranging the solutions may be.
