About Stekuworld
Stekuworld is the tradename of Intecon OÜ - a small Estonian company
that designs and manufactures high quality construction kits and other
educational toys from wood.
All Stekuworld Wooden Construction Kits are designed to encourage children to play creatively - we believe that
children really develop their imagination and creativity, and get most fun, from playing with toys that aren`t
complete and "perfect" - toys that leave plenty of room for their own imagination to take over. We have created
Stekuworld toys to do just that - they are not just pieces of wood,
they need creativity, co-ordination and logical
thinking to build whatever a child can imagine. Our toys allow children to combine fantasy and reality so they
develop their imagination and logical thought, at their own pace and in their own way.
Children today are surrounded by incredible technology - many toys create a virtual world where reality plays
little part - so it`s especially important that they can still experience the simple joys of creating real things in the
real world.

We manufacture all our products in our own workshops in the small rural town of Kilingi-Nõmme. Estonia has a
long history of producing wooden articles (after all - half of the country is covered with forest) and woodworking
and forestry are particularly strong in and around Kilingi-Nõmme.
We strongly believe that the only way we can absolutely guarantee both product quality and that no-one was
harmed or exploited in producing our toys is to make them all ourselves. This way we know that the highest EU labour, environmental and health & safety standards were maintained throughout the production chain. We could
not be certain of this if we followed many mainstream producers and subcontracted manufacture elsewhere.
Every piece of timber used in these kits comes from responsibly harvested and verified sources, which are
certified by the Forestry Stewardship Council and the Rainforest Alliance. We take a lot of care in selecting the
timber we use, and are so confident of it that all our kits use completely untreated and unfinished wood. This way
we don`t lose the natural beauty of the wood - you won`t find second grade wood hidden under a layer of paint
on any of our kits!
We are approved by the Forestry Stewardship Council and Rainforest Alliance who audit our processes and
certify that we use only approved timber. Our FSC registration code is; NC-COC-009121 ( FSC 100%)
Naturally all the other materials and processes we use are as sustainably sourced and eco-friendly as we can
possibly manage.
